[ MOVED FROM A FAILED BLOG, SAVED FOR POSTERITY :) ]

This is only a test [post].

I have intentions to sporadically update this blog with the goings-on of my newly-created Blood Death Knight, Raxias.  I have become a very casual World of Warcraft player over the past year or so.  After much reading and debating over which class I should really focus on to see content I have missed over the years, I have decided on the death knight... It figures that it's one of the two classes that I don't have at level 85 or above!

Nonetheless, I believe this will be a good choice.  It gives me the chance to really dig into the meat of the quest chains which may have previously been glossed over; I hear these nights in ebon armor are the solo kings.  And my experience over the past week lends credence to this claim.

I had played a paladin main for years before now, but they seem to have lost the "oomph" they once had as the stalwart, slow-but-steady beacons of justice.  Sure, I could play retribution spec to do some real damage, but I have always gravitated toward the truly armored types if I'm doing anything melee and toward casters to do damage.  And let's face it, any WoWer knows that armor class really serves as a distinction in name only.  It's the spec that determines a character's hardiness (see: leather-wearing monk tanks, the brewmasters).

With that understanding, the choices at hand included: the Guardian Druid, Brewmaster Monk, Blood Death Knight, Protection Paladin, and Protection Warrior.  I have never been a fan of the rage mechanic, so the warrior was out.  I have similar sentiments toward the monk.  Thought I played one to level 67, I found the play style to be rather boring.  Plus, combo points reside alongside rage concerning mechanics.  The druid and paladin both provide a goblin's bankroll worth of utility and boast the opportunity to fill any role in the "mmo trinity," should I feel like switching things up.  This is a huge selling point for either class since I am a certified altoholic.

But my current goals do not reside in spreading myself thin and trying to do everything.  Knowing this to be my direction and knowing my tendancies, the blood death knight became the obvious choice.  He is a strong, heavily-armored harbinger of pain with strong self-healing (seemingly even more effective than the paladin nowdays... what the what?!).  I'm well aware of the ever-swinging nerf bat, but all indications lead me to believe that the blood DK has been the most consistently effective solo class for a long enough time that something major would need to happen at a basic level to supplant them from this position.

I hope that time doesn't come soon.  But if it does, well, there is probably a reason that I get this error message every time I try to make a new character...
This "test post" has become much more of an exposition.  I admit that this tends to happen when I write about things I enjoy.  But adventure awaits in Azeroth!

[P.S.- It is the intention to post on a semi-regular basis, insomuch as life allows for time to play.  The game is no longer a need; it is a recreation and even a relaxation. The next update is planned to give a bit more information about myself and my history with WoW, either in the 'About Me' section or as a completely separate post, depending on how much is written.]
